WSOP Europe Main Event and World Poker Tour New TV Show

The leaderboard of the WSOP Europe Main Event is a who’s who of poker pros. A total of 363 players put up the $10,000 entry fee, making for a prize pool of about $3.65 million.

That translates into about $19,000 for the entry fee and $6.5 million for the prize pool in U.S dollars. A total of 36 players will make the money in the WSOP Europe Main Event and many top poker professionals will be getting paid.

Andy Bloch was among the leaders as was Daniel Negreanu. Bloch has appeared at more World Series of Poker final tables than anyone in history without getting a win.

He will have a tough time since some other top poker pros are also in contention. Brian Townsend is definitely going to be a factor as is Erik Seidel. Also in the running is John Juanda. All of the previous mentioned pros were in the Top 10 in chips as the field was narrowed to the final 60 players in the WSOP Europe Main Event.

Also not out of the running were Phil Laak, Mike Matusow and Dave Ulliott. That does not mean all of the pros are still around. Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, Chris Ferguson, Joe Hachem and Scotty Nguyen were just some of the top names that were eliminated.

In other poker news, the World Poker Tour has launched another television show that can be seen on FSN. It is called the ClubWPT.com show and will have six amateur players from around North America competing each week for money and prizes.

Players can earn their seat on the show by playing at the website. The show can be seen on FSN six nights a week.

Barry Tompkins and Bart Hansen will be the announcers that call the action on FSN. TV hostess Alison Waite will do the interviews. ClubWPT.com is another poker show for FSN. They will be broadcasting Season VII of the World Poker Tour later this year.
