Scotty Nguyen took home the title of best all around poker player by winning the 2008 World Series of Poker H.O.R.S.E. title. The $50,000 buy in event attracted a field of 148 players, mainly poker professionals. Nguyen took home the title, beating Michael DeMichele when it got down to heads-up play. DeMichele took home $1.24 million for finishing second. Nguyen took home his first WSOP bracelet since 2001. H.O.R.S.E. is a tournament with five poker games, Hold ’em, Omaha, Razz, Stud and Eight or Better. The final table of the 2008 tournament was loaded with talent that included DeMichele, Barry Greenstein, Erick Lindgren and Huck Seed. It was a solid three way battle at the end between Nguyen, Lindgren and DeMichele. This year’s victory for Nguyen also meant he is the first player to ever have his name on the new Chip Reese Memorial Trophy. Nguyen said it was very important to him to be the first one to win that trophy and remember Reese. Last week’s update left off at Event #39. Here are the results of Events #40 through #49.
