Seahawks at Bills NFL Betting Odds

The Seattle Seahawks begin their final season under head coach Mike Holmgren in Buffalo as they face the Bills in Week 1 NFL betting action. The Bills have been very tough at home of late, covering 10 of their last 13 games against the NFL odds.

Seattle won the NFC West last season going 10-6 straight up and 9-6-1 against the NFL betting pointspread. The Seahawks are led once again by quarterback Matt Hasselbeck who threw for almost 4,000 yards a year ago.

The Seahawks look to have an improved running game with Julius Jones and T. J. Duckett although Maurice Morris could be better than either one of them. The Seahawks may be able to run the ball in this game considering the Bills were just 25th in the NFL last season against the run.

Seattle will be missing wide receiver Bobby Ingram who is out for a least another month due to injury. That will put a lot of pressure on Nate Burleson early during the NFL schedule. One of the main weapons for Seattle last year, kicker Josh Brown is gone, so Seattle will have to rely upon either Olindo Mare or rookie Brandon Coutu.

The Bills were 7-9 straight up last season and 9-6-1 against the NFL betting pointspread. Buffalo is led by quarterback Trent Edwards and running back Marshawn Lynch on offense. Lynch had over 1,000 yards as a rookie and more is expected this season. The Bills made some nice additions in the off-season including Pro Bowl tackle Marcus Stroud on defense.

The Bills have the kicking edge in this game as Rian Lindell was nearly flawless last season.

Seahawks at Bills Betting Stats

NFL betting stats for this game we see that the two teams have met three times this decade with Buffalo winning two of the three games straight up and covering all three against the pointspread. Seattle is 9-6 against the NFL odds in their last 15 games overall but only 3-5 in their last eight games on the road. Buffalo is 10-6 against the NFL odds in their last 16 games overall.

Five of the last seven Seattle games have gone over the NFL betting total including four of the last six on the road. Five of the last six Buffalo home games have gone over the total.
