Hurricanes at Gators College Football Betting

The Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes resume their college football betting rivalry on Saturday at 8:00 pm EST on ESPN but this time it is Florida the national power and Miami the also-ran.

Miami has owned the Gators in this series but they haven’t met in betting odds since 2004. Since that time Florida has turned into a perennial BCS title contender and Miami has fallen off the map. The Gators don’t seem to care though.

“It’s playing the ‘U,'” Gators quarterback Tim Tebow said. “I’ve never done it before. I’m excited about it. I’m sure we’ll have about 80 percent of the state of Florida here in Gainesville.”

Florida has not beaten Miami in 23 years and Florida head coach Urban Meyer is well aware of it.

“I know we have not beat them in 20 or 25 years or some ridiculous number like that and we’re 0-6 against them,” he said, “I grew up watching Miami. I’m very well aware of what personnel they have. We’ll face arguably one of the best personnel teams in the country.”

Miami has won the last six college football betting meetings between the two teams including two bowl games. Their last meeting was in the 2004 Peach Bowl that Miami won 27-10.
The game is huge for the Hurricanes who want to get back onto the national stage. The problem for Miami will be containing a powerful Florida offense led by Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow.

Two players will be making their season debuts on Saturday. Florida’s Percy Harvin sat out last week but is expected to play while Miami’s quarterback Robert Marve was out last week due to suspension.
