AFC East NFL Betting Odds

The minutes are counting down for the 2008 NFL betting season kick off on Thursday September 4th at 7:00pm EST on NBC with Redskins at Giants betting odds.

This means that just like a Brett Favre retirement, the AFC East betting odds are currently available but will be closing shortly.

The acquisition of Brett Favre definitely changed the NFL betting odds and improved the Jets possibilities of winning the AFC East but the New England Patriots are still the heavy AFC East betting favorite and rightfully so.

The Patriots still have Tom Brady, Randy Moss and Wes Welker to lead their explosive offense to another AFC East title.

The New York Jets have been the buzz of the news with Brett Favre coming out of retirement to play at Meadowland Stadium. They have also created a buzz in the locker room with acquisitions of lineman Alan Faneca and Damien Woody on the offense and linebacker Calvin Pace, defensive tackle Kris Jenkins and rookie LB Vernon Gholston on the defense. The Jets did lose linebacker Jonathon Vilma but should still finish above .500 on the arm of Favre.

What can you say about the Buffalo Bills last season except that they tried. The Bills had one of the best special teams in the AFC East and look to have a strong defensive squad this year with the additions of defensive tackles Marcus Stroud and linebacker Kawika Mitchell. Much will be expected from quarterback Trent Edwards and running back Marshawn Lynch as they enter their sophomore season in the NFL.

AFC East betting fans will receive great odds for their money if they believe in the “odd couple” of Bill Parcells, Ricky Williams and Chad Pennington. When you throw Ronny Brown into the mix, we actually find this group one of the most exciting combinations in the NFL. Expect the Dolphins to give both the Jets and Bills a run for second in the AFC East and who knows; maybe the Big Tuna can get the fish into a AFC east title game with the Patriots.
