Although we are a few months from the start of the 2013 NFL season, bookmakers have begun listing regular season win totals for each team. With a 5-11 overall record last season going 3-9 in the NFC, handicappers are expecting much of the same from the Arizona Cardinals. NFL odds have listed the regular season win total of Arizona at 5 1/2 UNDER -140 while the OVER would return +110. The Cardinals finished last year in the bottom of the league ranked 28th in passing yards with an average of 187.8-per game and 32nd in rushing yards with an average of 75.3-per game.
The Arizona Cardinals have been building a solid foundation since last season's disappointing finish by tightening up the line with the additions of LG Jonathan Cooper, OT Paul Fanaika and DT Dan Williams. The Cardinals also recently signed rookie S Tyrann Mathieu from LSU to join a secondary that ranked an impressive 5th overall holding opponents to just 200.9-passing yards per game. QB Carson Palmer will take the snaps behind center while the talent of WR Larry Fitzgerald should open the field for others but will the aging pair be able to help the Cardinals break 5 1/2 in NFL odds for regular season win totals this year?
Possibly, but bookmakers aren't predicting much else from the Cardinals since the squad has been listed as 125/1 underdogs in NFL betting to win the Super Bowl, 66/1 to win the NFC Conference and +3300 to win the NFC West division. Regular season win totals have given the Cardinals a shot of winning 5.5-games this season with the OVER favored at -130 and the UNDER returning EV money. Arizona will start week 1 of the 2013-14 season against the St. Louis Rams at Edward Jones Dome and will have their first home game in week 2 against the Detroit Lions.
