Football fans around the country are rejoicing today as Sunday afternoon will feature both the AFC and NFC championships to decide which two teams will make the trip to New Orleans for Super Bowl XLVII. NFL betting in Vegas currently has the 49ers listed as 4-point favorites with a total of 48.5 for their match-up at the Falcons while the Patriots are -10 favorites at home in playoff predictions with a total of 51.5 for their battle against Baltimore. The 49ers vs Falcons can be seen live on FOX at 3:30pm EST from the Georgia Dome while the Ravens vs Patriots will kick-off at 6:00pm EST from Gillette Stadium which can be seen live on CBS.
In addition to the point spreads, bookmakers have also listed profitable moneylines for Sunday's conference championships with the Falcons returning +180 on a $100 wager for the home upset against the 49ers while the Ravens would return +260 for the stunning upset against New England. Conversely, taking the favorites in Sunday's action would cost -220 for a San Francisco win at Atlanta while gamblers taking New England at home will need to lay -320. That being said, those looking for the best underdog value should view the NFL betting odds at Bovada as they are the only online sportsbook to offer the Falcons +5 and the Patriots +10. San Fran will put their hopes in QB Colin Kaepernick who has thrown for an impressive 1,814-yards with 10-touchdowns since taking over for Alex Smith while also rushing for 415-yards with 5-touchdowns. That being said, perhaps the biggest factor on Sunday in regards to a San Francisco road win will be the use of TE Vernon Davis who has 548-yards and 5-touchdowns for the season but has only had one reception in the last three games for a total of 76-yards.
Playoff predictions have the Atlanta Falcons as 5-point underdogs but gamblers can't ignore the effectiveness of QB Matt Ryan who has thrown for 4,719-yards and 32-touchdowns this season. RB Michael Turner has found the endzone 10-times this year but the determining factor for an Atlanta victory will be the WR tandem of Roddy White and Julio Jones who have combined for 2,549-yards with 17-touchdowns. The question remain however, will Atlanta be able to win their first playoff game under head coach Mike Smith or will the squad let another opportunity slip away? The New England Patriots are clear favorites to win the AFC championship with QB Tom Brady throwing an impressive 4,827-yards for 34-TD's while RB Stevan Ridley has punished defensive lines rushing for 1,263-yards and 12-touchdowns this year. Not to be outdone, Baltimore QB Joe Flacco threw for 3,817-yards with 22-touchdowns while RB Ray Rice added 1,143-yards and 9-touchdowns this season. The main storyline however for the Ravens vs Patriots will be if the Baltimore defense, led by Ray Lewis, is able to disrupt and shut down New England's offense. Although the Patriots are heavily favored to win at home, it is important to note that New England is just 5-3-2 against the spread in the last 10-games when facing the Ravens.
Looking for a sportsbook that offers up to a $250 welcome bonus for wagering on today's 49ers vs Falcons and Ravens vs Patriots conference championships? If you can't make it to Vegas, then be sure to visit the only sportsbook that also offers live NFL betting on each throw, rush or kick for as little as $1 - Bovada.
