Football fans around the country and especially in Indianapolis are waking up today with a particular excitement that only comes around once a year. Lucas Oil Stadium will be the place where all the excitement will be released tonight at 6:30pm EST when the New England Patriots face the New York Giants for the NFL championship live on NBC. Super Bowl picks for 2012 in Vegas and at offshore sportsbooks currently have the "Pats" as 3-point betting favorites to win the title over "Big Blue" while the over/under total has dropped once again from its 55.5 opening line to currently being listed at 53.5. Giants vs Patriots odds on the money line also have New England as -135 favorites while New York would pay-out +115 on a $100 bet for the upset win. Handicappers have been touting a Giants victory as of lated and wise guy money in Vegas is reflecting much of the same with sportsbooks like the MGM Mirage and Wynn dropping the line down to 2.5-points.
These two teams have been here before for the 2007 championship which came down to a fourth quarter battle that the Giants won 17-14. New York had been listed as 14-point underdogs in that title game and not much has changed for when the two meet again at 6:30pm EST from Lucas Oil Stadium with the "G-men" 3-point longshots to win their fourth Lombardi trophy in Super Bowl picks for 2012. New York did not look like a team that would make it this far having gone 9-7 on the season but won their last two games of the season and proceeded to defy the doubters winning three straight postseason games to find themselves playing on Sunday for their second championship title since 2007. QB Eli Manning has led the Giants this season throwing for nearly 5,000-yards with 29-touchdowns and 16-interceptions. In the playoffs, Manning has looked like a hall of fame quarterback throwing for nearly 1,000-yards, 8-touchdowns and only 1-interception.
While Giants vs Patriots odds in Vegas might not favor a New York victory it should be safe to say that with Manning behind center this season, anything can happen. The New England Patriots will have their own hall of fame quarterback behind center as Tom Brady broke NFL records this year throwing for 5,235-yards with 93-touchdowns and 602-yards for 6-touchdowns in the postseason. All of Brady's touchdowns in the playoffs were against the Denver Broncos in the divisional round as the two time MVP in Super Bowl picks was held scoreless and forced two interceptions against the Ravens for the AFC conference title. Can Brady bounce back from a 57.5-quarterback rating to win his fourth title? That remains to be seen but one thing is for sure, you can't count Tom Brady out of any game. Live Giants vs Patriots odds with over 500 prop bets are available at Bovada and also be sure to receive a $100 free bet for wagering on today's game or try live betting on each throw, run or kick as it happens for as little as $1!
