![]() ESPN basketball will feature an exciting Eastern conference battle on Friday night when the New York Knicks (7-11) travel down south to take on the Miami Heat (13-5) at 8:00pm EST from the AmericanAirlines Arena. The Knicks will be looking to turn things around having won only 1-game for their last eight times out on the court. It doesn't look to get any better for New York however, as the Heat have won two straight games and have gone 7-2 when playing at home this season. Knicks vs Heat odds at Vegas sportsbooks have listed Dwyane Wade and Miami 11-point basketball betting favorites vs New York with an over/under total of 194.5. That's right... after sitting out the past six games with an ankle injury, Wade could make his return to the court since joining the team for this morning's workout. NBA picks for tonight's game on ESPN and online at ESPN3 favors the Heat -800 while the Knicks would return +600 (6/1) on a $100 wager. After winning four straight games, the New York Knickerbockers have fallen into a 1-7 slump with four of the losses being at home. The Knicks managed to rebound on Tuesday night with a 111-78 victory at the Charlotte Bobcats but then went back to their losing ways with an 81-91 at the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday to go 1-1 on the current four game road streak. Bookmakers had listed New York as 3.5-point basketball betting favorites but the Knicks couldn't cover the spread once again to go a miserable 4-14 ATS on the year. Handicappers should note that Carmelo Anthony has been ruled out of Friday's game on ESPN suffering from a sprained wrist, ankle and right thumb. Anthony leads the team in scoring and was a major factor in New York's 91-86 win at Miami last season with 29-points. Knicks vs Heat odds and trends have New York 11-point underdogs having recently gone 2-4 against the spread on the road and 3-7 after a loss. The Miami Heat are in possession of first place in the Southeast and 2-games behind the Chicago Bulls in the Eastern conference compiling a 13-5 overall record going 5-1 in their last six games and believe it or not, did most of that without Wade on the court. It must feel good to watch your teammates go on a 5-1 spurt without you but then again, it must make you feel like you need to get out there and play. Wade will do just that tonight when he takes the home court after sitting out for nearly two weeks with numerous leg and ankle injuries. Miami are coming off a 101-98 win on Wednesday night at the Detroit Pistons with LeBron James hitting 6-free throws in the last 1:19 for a total of 32-points, 6-rebounds and 7-assists in the win. Chris Bosh also had a big game against Detroit netting 27-points, 6-rebounds and 4-assists. Miami were listed as 8.5-point betting favorites on the road in that game but failed to cover the point spread for a 8-10 ATS mark on the year. Knicks vs Heat odds favor Wade and Miami as basketball betting favorites against New York having recently gone 4-1 when playing NY in South Florida and 7-2 overall. Basketball Betting Picks: Heat -11 New York Knicks (7-11 SU, 4-14 ATS) vs Miami Heat (13-5 SU, 8-10 ATS) |
