![]() The Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario will be the host for UFC 140 betting odds on Saturday December 10th when light-heavy champ Jon Jones puts his title on the line vs Lyoto Machida. The main fight card can be seen on Pay-per-view while the preliminary cards can be seen live via ION Television and Facebook. Vegas bookmakers have listed Jones as the overwhelming favorite to retain the title at -450 while Machida would return a hefty +360 on a $100 wager for the upset. The other main event bouts from Canada on Saturday night will include, Frank Mir vs Anotoio Rodrigo Nogueira, Anotnio Rogerio Nogueira vs Tito Ortiz, Brian Ebersole vs Claude Patrick and Mark Hominick vs Chan Sung Jung. Jon "Bones" Jones will enter Saturday's fight as the clear favorite in UFC 140 betting odds to defeat Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida having won 5-straight bouts with his one and only loss being at The Ultimate Fighter 10 finale back in 2009. The Rochester, New York native has an almost unblemished record of 14-1-0 with 8-TKO's, 4-submissions and 2-decision. His two most recent fights were against former light heavyweight icons of the sport, Mauricio Rua and Quinton Jackson, but "Bones" has proven to be an unstoppable force once in the octagon. At UFC 128, Jones took down Rua in the third round by TKO with punches and knees while Jackson fell victim to a rear-naked choke submission in the fourth round at UFC 135. If Jones can defeat "The Dragon" like most handicappers expect, he would most certainly be a top candidate for "Fighter of the Year" and set up a match vs Rashard Evans. Lyota Machida had 16-straight wins heading into UFC 113 vs Mauricio Rua but fell in the first round by KO on punches to end the legends streak. "The Dragon" looked to get back into the win column taking on Quinton Jackson at UFC 123 but instead lost by a split decision for his second straight loss. Machida was able to regroup however with a highly anticipated win over Randy Couture at UFC 129 with front kick KO in the second round to get the Brazilian back on track. Now on Saturday night in Canada, the 33-year-old Machida will have the chance to reclaim the light heavyweight title with a 17-2-0 record but will do so as a +360 underdog in UFC 140 betting odds. Jones will have the advantage standing a good 3-inches taller but Lyota will need to count on his in and out creativity along with speed if he is to dethrone the current king. UFC Picks: Jones - 2nd Round KO Jon "Bones" Jones (14-1-0) vs Lyota "The Dragon" Machida (17-2-0) |
