2011 PGA Championship Odds and Golf Betting Picks

The PGA tour will be in Atlanta this week when the 2011 PGA Championship tees-off from the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Georgia on Thursday August 11th. There will be a total purse of $7,500,000 USD at stake and a total of 600 FedExCup points on the line. The PGA Championship odds in Vegas will go off the board Thursday morning with the tournament being aired live on both TNT and CBS television. The defending champion is Martin Kaymer but bookmakers have listed Rory McIlroy as the golf betting favorite to win this week in Georgia at 10/1.

Vegas bookmakers and online sportsbooks have also listed Lee Westwood and Luke Donald at 14/1. Adam Scott, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods round out the top choices in 2011 PGA Championship odds at 20/1. Martin Kaymer took the title last year but Vegas bookmakers and online sportsbooks aren't expecting the same result this time around listing the 27-year-old as a 28-1 longshot along with Nick Watney. McIlroy will take the course on Thursday in Georgia as the top golf betting favorite since owning the U.S. Open title and finishing 5th at the Memorial Tournament. McIlroy is a logic wager as the Irishman has made 8 out of 9 cuts this season with a 70.73-scoring average for just under $2,000,000 USD in prize money.

Heading into PGA Championship odds for this week at the Atlanta Athletic club as the 10/1 favorite, McIlroy has been in the top-10 four times this season with 7-top twenty-five showings. Lee Westwood is the second choice to win in Georgia as a 14/1 golf betting favorite having only finished twice in the top-10 this season. The Englishman has made 8-cuts this year out of 9-tournaments played with 6-top ten and 6-top 25 finishes. Westwood is coming off a T9 at the WGC - Bridgestone Invitational last week and is still searching for his first win of the season. Luke Donald is the third betting choice in 2011 USPGA Championship odds also at 14/1 having made 11-cuts out of 13-tournaments entered this year with 9-top ten finishes and 10-top 25 finishes.

Heading into PGA Championship odds for this week as one of the top three choices, Donald has maintained a 69.84% driving accuracy for an average distance of 281.9-yards. Adam Scott has been listed as a 20/1 golf betting favorite fresh off his win at the World Golf Championships - Bridgestone Invitational. Scott is currently ranked #15 in the world with 4-top ten and 7-top 25 showings this season. Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods will also be in action this week as 20/1 favorites in Vegas as Mickelson will be looking for his second win of the season and Woods will be looking to break back into the top 100. Mickelson is currently ranked #5 in FedExCup points with 5-top ten and 8-top twenty five showings this year.
