College Football Lines: Florida State vs Oklahoma - Week 2 Predictions

FSU vs Oklahoma Lines

ABC television has one of the most intriguing match-ups in week 2 college football lines for a phenomenal Saturday as the 7th ranked Oklahoma Sooners host the 20th ranked Florida State Seminoles with kick-off set for 3:35pm EST. Online sportsbooks opened with Oklahoma as a 7.5 point favorite vs FSU in week 2 predictions with a total of 58.5. The Florida State Seminoles had far and away the more impressive opening day performance last week between the two teams as they annihilated 1-AA Samford 59-6. Oklahoma struggled against a lightly regarded Utah State team from the Western Athletic Conference in a 31-24 win that they never came close to covering as 34-point college footballl betting favorites.

Heading into week 2 predictions, new FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher has what looks to be one of the most dangerous offenses in the land as senior quarterback Christian Ponder was in All Conference form with 4 TD passes as he hit on 12-14 for 167 yards in one half of action. It made for a happy debut for Fisher, who has brought a much needed sense of fresh air and newness to the program that had grown stale under the now retired Bobby Bowden. Oklahoma allowed a staggering 421 total yards to Utah State last week and they may not have won at all were it not for 3 interceptions by the defense.

Running back DeMarco Murray had a strong performance with 218 yards on 35 carries and figures to get plenty of carries against FSU in the attempt to eat up clock and keep their offense sidelined. Sophomore QB Landry Jones was erratic as he went 17-36 with 2 interceptions. “I didn’t think Landry was very sharp,” said head coach Bob Stoops. “And for a guy that has played as many games as he did a year ago, he didn’t look like he was in his comfort zone at all.” This is the first meeting in this series since 1950.
