NFL Lines: Week 1

The NFL week 1 schedule will feature a fantastic opening Sunday full of action highlighted during the afternoon with a key NFC showdown of playoff teams from last year as the Green Bay Packers visit the Philadelphia Eagles as the feature NFL betting game on FOX at 4:20pm EST. Online sportsbooks have opened with the Packers as a 3-point favorite in football picks with a line total of 48 as Philadelphia begins anew with a revamped roster of younger players and new starting QB Kevin Kolb. The Packers and their high octane unit led by All Pro QB Aaron Rodgers are expected to contend for the Super Bowl but only if their defense and special teams tighten up.

Sam Bradford, the number one overall pick in the 2010 Draft, will get the starting assignment in the St. Louis Rams opener at home against the Arizona Cardinals, who have their own new starting QB in Derek Anderson, who stole the job from the recently waived Matt Leinart. The Cardinals have opened at online sportsbooks as a 4-point favorite in NFL lines with a total of 39 as kickoff on FOX is at 4:20pm EST. Pete Carroll will make his debut as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks as the San Francisco 49ers visit for a 4:20pm EST kickoff. Seattle has opened as a 3-point underdog in football picks with a total of 36.5.

The Sunday Night NBC game on the NFL week 1 schedule features one of the great traditional rivalries in all of sports as the new look Washington Redskins will host the Dallas Cowboys. Washington fans are hoping that Donovan McNabb will be able to answer the bell at quarterback and make his first ever start as a Redskin for new coach Mike Shanahan. Dallas is a favorite in NFL football picks to win the NFC championship but their offense was alarmingly unproductive in the preseason. No opening line has been posted yet pending McNabb’s status.
