![]() Two teams that look like up and coming bowl contenders and sports betting dark horses for more will meet as the Kansas State Wildcats will host the UCLA Bruins. Kick-off is set for 3:30pm EST and the game can be seen on ABC. Online sportsbooks have Kansas State -2 favorites in college football picks at home with a total of 44.5. Rick Neuheisel took his Alma Mater bowling last year as UCLA finished 7-6 in college football odds with momentum heading into 2010. Neuheisel should have his best team yet at UCLA as he has 8 starters back on offense led by sophomore QB Kevin Prince and 5 starters back on defense. Prince had an up and down on the job training season last year but showed improvement and the offense went from 17 points per game in 2008 to 22 PPG in 2009. The defense cut more than a TD from their average as they finished 2009 with 21 PPG. Kicker Kai Forbath is a major weapon as the Lou Groza Award winner last year after going 28-31 on field goals. UCLA has gone 3-6 against the spread in college football betting odds as road underdogs with Neuheisel but 6-1 ATS in non conference action. Kansas State showed marked improvement in the second coming off Bill Snyder as head coach after he “retired” for 3 seasons as they went 6-6 and were contenders into their final game in the Big 12 North. K-State returns 5 starters on offense and 6 on defense. The defense showed major improvement going from 36 PPG in 2008 to 23 PPG last year. Senior RB Daniel Thomas is the main weapon on offense as he rushed for 1,290 yards and 11 TD’s. Senior Carson Coffman is the QB as he looks to improve after losing the gig last year. K State has gone 23-15 as a home betting favorite but just 6-15 ATS in non conference action. |
