![]() CBS will get an All-Texas NFL preseason week 3 shootout between potential playoff teams as the Houston Texans host the Dallas Cowboys. Kickoff is at 8:05pm EST on Saturday night and Houston has opened at online sportsbooks as a 6-point favorite at home with an over/under betting total of 41. The Texans have lost and failed to cover both of their previous exhibition games and are coming off a 38-20 loss at New Orleans as 1.5-point underdogs in NFL preseason odds while the total went OVER 41. Despite the bad preseason start the vibes are quite positive from Houston camp as the Texans attempt to make the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. QB Matt Schaub threw for over 4,770 yards last year but knows there is only one stat that counts. “In this business you’re judged on wins and losses,” said Schaub. “As a quarterback, all that matters is winning games.” Houston struggled with a weak running game and fumbles last year and that has continued heading into NFL preseason week 3 betting odds. Steve Slaton and Arian Foster continue to work on production and ball handling. Dallas is 2-1 straight up and against the spread. The Cowboys won at San Diego last week 16-14 as 2.5-point dogs as the game went under 35.5 for the 3rd under in 3 games for Dallas this preseason. The Cowboys offense has been awful in all 3 games. While they claim to be running a vanilla offense they have still looked sloppy at the basics. “Each play it seemed we had someone doing something wrong,” said QB Tony Romo after the San Diego game. “We all have to pick it up.” Dallas’ first unit has scored just one TD so far in preseason. Injuries are another problem for Dallas heading into week 3 of the 2010 NFL preseason as first round draft pick Dez Bryant continues to miss time at wide receiver and is out for this game. Free safety Gerald Sensabaugh and linebacker Keith Brooking are also out for Dallas. The Cowboys had previously lost offensive linemen Marc Colombo and Kyle Kosier last week. |
