![]() Week 2 of NFL preseason betting will end with a Monday Night Football match-up between two playoff hopefuls for 2010 as the Tennessee Titans host the Arizona Cardinals. Kick-off for the ESPN telecast is at 8:05pm EST and online sportsbooks have opened with the Titans as a 4-point favorite with a total at 37. Sportsbooks have the money line favoring Tennessee -210 and Arizona +175 as underdogs. Arizona is coming off a 19-16 win and payout in NFL preseason odds over Houston as a 2.5-point home underdog last week as the game snuck over 33. The first string unit led by QB Matt Leinart was sloppy and coach Ken Whisenhunt went public with his displeasure. “There were a couple times offensively that it was a joke,” said Whisenhunt about the week 1 NFL betting loss. “I was disappointed that we were not more effective in the first half. That to me is unacceptable.” Leinart is already under heavy pressure as he is replacing retired star Kurt Warner after losing the starting job to him as Warner led the Cards to the 2008 NFC championship title. The hero for Arizona was rookie QB John Skelton out of Fordham who threw the winning touchdown pass late in the game. Arizona’s other rookie QB Max Hall of BYU is expected to see action Monday while Skelton may not get in as #2 QB Derek Anderson is also expected to get reps. Tennessee lost at Seattle last week 20-18 but got the cash as 3.5-point dogs as the game went over 35. The Titans are emphasizing getting off to a good start in preseason as they fell flat on their face out of the gate in 2009 with a 0-6 start in NFL picks. Quarterback Vince Young continues to impress with an improved work ethic and his leadership. “It’s all about is,” said Young. “We’ve got to go out and take care of our responsibilities.” |
