2010 Arlington Millions Odds

Arlington Park in Illinois is the site for the top Grade 1 thoroughbred race of the weekend with the famed Arlington Million odds taking place on Saturday. The mile and a quarter turf race has a Post Time set for 6:14pm EST with Gio Ponti returning to try and become only the second horse since John Henry to be a two-time Arlington Million winner in horse betting odds. The field will be comprised of a total of 10 horses and Gio Ponti has opened as a 7-5 betting favorite at online racebooks. The defending champion is trained by Christopher Clement and will be mounted by Ramon Dominguez. Gio Ponti will be in the number 6 post at the starting gate.

Gio Ponti is in top form with a win in his last race in the Grade 1 Man O’ War at Belmont on July 10th. The second horse betting choice in 2010 Arlington Millions odds at online racebooks is last year’s runner up in the Million; Just As Well, who is trained by Jonathan Sheppard and ridden by Julien Leparoux. Just As Well last ran on July 17th in the Grade 3 Arlington Handicap and finished 2nd. Just As Well will break out from the 4th slot in the gate. Online racebooks had Tazeez at 6-1 taking off from the 9 hole.

John M. Gosden is the trainer and the jockey will be Richard Hills. Tazeez last ran in the Grade 1 Prince of Wales and finished 3rd on June 16th. General Quarters opened at online racebooks as an 8-1 longshot in horse racing odds and will start from the 3rd gate position. General Quarters is trained by Thomas McCarthy and will be mounted by James Graham. Horse betting handicappers will recall General Quarters ran in the 2009 Kentucky Derby and Preakness and was the winner at Churchill Downs in the Grade 1 Woodford Reserve this year on Derby Day.
