![]() The 2010 San Diego Chargers have opened at online sportsbooks as an 10-1 choice to win in Super Bowl predictions with an over/under regular season win total of 11 UNDER (-160). The Chargers won the AFC West last year going away with a 13-3 straight up record while going 8-7-1 against the spread in NFL betting odds with just 5 of those games going under the total. San Diego has made the playoffs 4 straight years and should not have much of a fight in getting that done yet again looking at the 2010 Chargers NFL schedule. It must be said, however, that they have not been the same team since going 14-2 and losing a heartbreaker in the playoffs at home to New England. Head coach Marty Schottenheimer was fired due to a conflict with the general manager and Norv Turner was hired as his replacement. There has been a noticeable drop in performance for San Diego ever since. Turner reminded everyone why gamblers and football experts alike have plenty of skepticism about his abilities as the Chargers came out flat in their playoff loss at home to the New York Jets as Jets coach Rex Ryan clearly had the strategy advantage over Turner as the San Diego offense was ineffective. The loss wasted a great season in which San Diego ranked 4th in scoring and showed significant improvement on defense to finish 11th in points allowed. Bet the 2010 San Diego Chargers as 10-1 favorites in Vegas Super Bowl predictions and odds. Philip Rivers had another stellar year at quarterback throwing for 4,254 yards and a 28/9 TD/INT ratio. Antonio Gates and Vincent Jackson both had over 1,000 yards receiving and are back. Number one draft pick Ryan Matthews replaces long time fixture LaDanian Tomlinson at running back. The AFC West remains weak with rebuilding teams so San Diego has a solid shot in NFL odds at Super Sunday but Turner remains the big concern. |
