2010 St. Louis Rams: Vegas Predictions and NFL Super Bowl Odds

2010 St. Louis Rams

The St. Louis Rams had a rough debut season at online sportsbooks under rookie head coach Steve Spagnuolo as they finished 1-15 straight up and 7-9 against the NFL betting spread with just 6 games going over the total. Spagnuolo was hardly to blame, however, as this is a team that has been for sale for a couple of years and was left barren by the previous regime. With the worst record in the NFL, the Rams got the first draft pick and selected 2008 Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford from Oklahoma. The quarterback missed last season after being injured in OU’s opener but has all the tools that the NFL scouts love.

St. Louis has won 3, 2, and 1 game in their last 3 seasons which is among the reasons why the Rams opened in Vegas predictions as a 200-1 longshot to win in NFL Super Bowl odds with an over/under regular season win total of 5 (-115). Bradford is going to need plenty of help as he will take over an offense that finished at or near the absolute bottom of the NFL in all major categories, as did the Rams defense for that matter. St. Louis also finished 30th for turnover margin to make for a complete debacle.

Bradford is not being brought in just for his talent, however, as the franchise wants a new and positive face to lead it after the past few years of humiliation. Veteran AJ Feeley was brought in from Carolina as a veteran balance at QB for Bradford and to help the Rams break him in. The one bright spot from the 2009 season was running back Steven Jackson, who made the Pro Bowl after rushing for 1,416 yards and catching 51 passes. While the Rams may be slightly better in 2010 they still have a long way to go and as 200-1 longshots in Vegas predictions to win in Super Bowl odds, don't look like they have much of a chance.
