![]() Fresh off a 12-4 straight up season in NFL betting picks in which quarterback Brett Favre had one of his greatest seasons ever the 2010 Minnesota Vikings have opened at online sportsbooks in NFL predictions as a 12-1 choice to win the Super Bowl with an over/under win total of 9.5 OVER (-140). The Vikings season ended in disappointment and with the ultimate “what if” as they were driving for the winning field goal at the end of regulation at New Orleans in the NFC Championship Game only for Favre to revert back to his old wild gun slinging ways as he threw a horrible interception that led to an overtime defeat. Favre finished with just 7 interceptions thrown for the regular season, which was far and away a career best. He has a highly talented corps of receivers led by Sidney Rice, who had 1,312 yards last year. Which Favre the Vikings will get is one of the big questions heading into NFL odds for the 2010 season. Favre led the Viking offense to rank 2nd in the NFL for scoring and had plenty of help starting with running back Adrian Peterson, who rushed for 1,383 yards although he was inconsistent and remained fumble prone. The highly touted Vikings defense in NFL betting picks finished just 10th in points allowed but featured a brutal pass rush that compiled the most sacks in the league. Jared Allen was a big reason why quarterbacks feared the Viking front line as he was a superb rusher and takeaway machine. Overall the Vikings were a solid 8th in turnover margin. Head coach Brad Childress is a better coach than given credit for as evidenced by Favre’s performance and back to back playoff seasons in Minnesota. The Vikings window is slowly closing as they are fighting father time and this year may be their last best chance to win it all. |
