![]() Grade I Mother Goose Stakes odds from Belmont Park will head up a big schedule of graded races this week at tracks throughout the nation. The Mother Goose is a $250,000 mile and one eighth race that is for 3 year old fillies which saw horse predictions pick Rachel Alexandra as the winner last year. The Mother Goose Stakes is scheduled to run on Sunday, June 27th. A pair of big Grade II races will take place on Saturday, June 26th with the Prairie Meadows Cornhusker Handicap from Prairie Meadows and the King Edward Stakes from Woodbine. The Prairie Meadows Cornhusker Handicap is just one of three big horse betting races set for the track on Saturday as the Grade III Iowa Oaks and Grade III Iowa Derby will also be run to make for a huge day of action in Altoona, Iowa. The Cornhusker Handicap is worth $300,000 and is one and one sixteenth miles in length. It is for horses three years old and up. Toronto will host the King Edward Stakes that has a total purse of $300,000 and is one mile in distance. The race is open to horses 3 years of age and up. The Grade III Iowa Oaks is worth $200,000 and is for 3 year old fillies that will run a distance of one and one sixteenth miles. The Grade III Iowa Derby is also one and one sixteenth miles in length and is worth $250,000. It is also for 3 year olds. In other scheduled action this week, Saturday will feature several big graded races including the Grade III Beverly Hills Handicap from Hollywood Park. Churchill Downs offers the Grade III Debutante Stakes. And Monmouth Park will run the Grade III Boiling Springs Stakes. |
