![]() The Colorado Rockies performed a Lazarus like resurrection last year in which they ended up as the National League wild card team after stumbling out of the gate and being written off for dead. Much of the credit for the Rockies resurgence must go to manager Jim Tracy, who replaced the fired Clint Hurdle after that bad start last year. By year’s end Tracy had a team polished and primed in his image and in the post season. The big question this year is whether or not the Rockies were a flash in the pan or a team that is on the rise. The Colorado Rockies are listed at 20-1 in 2010 World Series odds. The Rockies succeeded last year with remarkable balance as they ranked 6th in Major League Baseball for run production and a solid 10th for team earned run average. Heading into 2010 World Series odds, Ubaldo Jimenez leads the starting rotation and is coming off a solid 2009 performance in which he went 15-12 with a 3.47 earned run average. It was a breakout season for Jimenez who is only 26 years old and a regular starter since 2008. Closer Huston Street was one of the best in the game last year. Street went 4-1 with a 3.06 earned run average and had 35 saves in 37 chances. He struck out 70 batters in 61.2 innings of work. Bet the Colorado Rockies 20-1 in 2010 World Series odds. First baseman Todd Helton leads the Colorado Rockies lineup. Helton hit .325 last year with 38 doubles, 15 home runs, and 86 runs batted in with 79 runs scored. He has been a mainstay with Colorado since 1997. The Rockies also have the rare luxury of a power hitting shortstop with Troy Tulowitzki, who led the team in home runs last year with 32 while hitting .297 with 101 runs scored and 92 runs batted in. The Rockies may not bring the same value this year in MLB betting as they are now among the hunted. |
