![]() The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have proven to be one of the best offensive teams in major league baseball and that figures to continue again this year as they are 18-1 in odds to win the 2010 World Series and defend their title as American League West Division champions. To go all the way, however, the Angels will need improvement from their pitching staff which ranked 20th in the major leagues for earned run average last year. Right hand starter Jared Weaver gives Angels fans cause for optimism heading into 2010 World Series odds. The number one man in the rotation went 16-8 last year with a 3.75 earned run average. He has a career mark of 16-8 with a 3.75 ERA. From there, however, the Angels have quite a drop off in effective starters and that is going to need to change as someone will have to emerge to take the load off of Weaver. Left hander Joe Saunders may be the man to do that as he went 16-7 last year but with a high 4.60 earned run average. Closer is a question mark for the Angels as Brian Fuentes was inconsistent last year with a record of 1-5 with 48 saves in 55 chances and a 3.93 earned run average. Bet the Los Angeles Angels 18-1 in odds to win the 2010 World Series. Heading into 2010 World Series odds, the loaded Angels lineup is led by Kendry Morales, who hit .306 last year with 34 home runs, 43 doubles and 108 runs batted in. It was his first season with a full time gig and Morales could be expected to produce even greater numbers this year. Shortstop Erick Aybar led the Angels with a .312 average last year with 70 runs scored and 14 stolen bases. Right fielder Bobby Abreu is another asset as he hit .293 with 29 doubles, 15 home runs and 103 runs batted in for Los Angeles in his first season with the team. |
