![]() The Los Angeles Dodgers have won back-to-back National League West Division titles with manager Joe Torre, who brought along his winning touch after a long and highly successful stint as manager of the New York Yankees. The Dodgers enter the season at 16-1 in 2010 World Series odds and may be one of the better values in MLB baseball betting. The Dodgers have championship form, confidence and plenty of assets heading into the 2010 World Series campaign. Los Angeles finished with the top team earned run average in all of Major League Baseball last year. The starting rotation will be led by an import from the Texas Rangers. Right hander Vicente Padilla arrives from Texas where he went 12-6 last year with a 4.46 earned run average. He has a career mark of 98-85 with a 4.33 ERA and has previous National League experience with the Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks. Lefthander Clayton Kershaw is the prototypical Dodger. In just his second year in the rotation last year he went 8-8 but with a stellar 2.79 earned run average. Expectations are high for Kershaw, who will need to continue his improvement if the Dodgers are to remain top shelf contenders. Right hander Chad Billingsley is another key part of the rotation for the Dodgers run at winning in 2010 World Series odds. He has impressive career numbers of 47-30 with a 3.55 earned run average in 4 years on the job with Los Angeles. Closer Jonathan Broxton rounds out the excellent staff. He went 7-2 last year with a 2.61 earned run average with 36 saves in 42 chances. Andre Ethier leads the lineup and is coming off a fine 2009 season in which he hit .272 with 31 home runs and 106 runs batted in. LA should stay in the race through the stretch run and may have enough to go all the way. |
