Michigan State 4-1 in Final Four Odds

The Michigan State Spartans fell one game short last year as they lost the National Championship game to the North Carolina Tar Heels who will be playing in the NIT Championship on Thursday night. This year they enter the Final Four at 4-1 in 2010 Final Four betting odds to finish off the job that they failed to complete last year and also opened as 1-point underdogs in their opening game this weekend against the upstart Cinderella Butler Bulldogs, who are the sentimental choice and also the home town favorites in Indianapolis, where the school is located.

Michigan State “limped in” to the Big Dance but head coach Tom Izzo has once again proved himself to be a magician when it comes to Final Four betting success. Michigan State opened with a close 70-67 win over New Mexico State as 13-point favorites. Kalin Lucas led the Spartans with 25-points while Draymond Green wiped the boards clean with 12 rebounds. The Spartans next played ACC co-champion Maryland for the right to enter the Sweet Sixteen and scored an 85-83 win as 1-point underdogs in college basketball odds. Durrell Summers scored 26 points to lead the Spartans while Raymar Morgan added 17 along with 9 rebounds. Korie Lucious also added 13 points for Michigan State.

In Sweet Sixteen action the Spartans scored a 59-52 win over Northern Iowa as 1.5-point betting favorites. Durrell Summers had 19 points and 7 rebounds to lead State. The Spartans got their ticket punched for the Final Four with a breathtaking 70-69 win over Tennessee as 2-point underdogs. Durrell Summers continued his outstanding play in the tournament with 21 points while Raymar Morgan had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Michigan State is 4-3 against the spread as an underdog and is a proven Big Dance commodity that will be tough to beat.
