If familiarity breeds contempt, there should be animosity aplenty in Florida on Thursday night at 7:00pm EST when the Orlando Magic and the Miami Heat meet at the AmericanAirlines Arena in a game that can be seen on TNT. NBA betting odds have the Magic listed as 2-point favorites against the Heat while the game's total is listed at 188.5. The Magic dominated the second half and cruised to a 110-84 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night. The Magic covered the 7-point spread in NBA picks while the 194 points made it OVER the posted total of 193 at online sportsbooks.
Vince Carter led the way with 24 points and dished out eight assists for the Magic. Rashard Lewis added 20 points in the win to get back on track after losing to the Charlotte Bobcats on Sunday. "I liked our defense on him. I thought we did a good job," Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said after the game. "At the same time, he (Duncan) can make a lot of the shots he was taking. What you try to do is just not make things easy and then you live with the result." Heading into tonight's game on TNT, the Magic are 48-21 straight up on the season, 36-30-3 against the spread in NBA betting odds and 6-4 after playing San Antonio.
Dwyane Wade poured in 28 points for Miami in their 88-76 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night after winning three straight games. San Antonio cashed as 2.5-point road underdogs in NBA betting odds while the game played UNDER the 186.5-point total listed at online sportsbooks. "They came out and played very, very well, ideally how you want to play like on the road," Wade said after the game. "They came out and played as a team. All of them. ... They came out and jumped on us early, and we didn't have it."
Heading into tonight's match-up on TNT, the Heat are 35-33 straight up, 35-32-1 against the spread as underdogs in NBA betting odds and 4-6 after playing the Spurs. Miami is 5-1 against the spread in their last 6 games at home and 6-1 straight up in their last 7 games at home. Orlando is 6-2 straight up in their last 8 games when playing on the road against the Heat and 9-1 straight up in their last 10 games. The total has gone OVER in NBA picks for 6 of Miami's last 8 games and OVER in 6 of the Heats last 7 games at home. Vegas odds at the MGM Mirage sportsbook have the Orlando Magic -2.5 favorites against the Miami Heat with a total of 187.5. |
