How To Play Caribbean Stud Poker

One of the featured online casino games at Bodog is Caribbean stud poker. It is a 5-card poker game where you are playing against the Dealer. It is very easy to play and gives you a lot of chances to win money. You can even win big if you hit the progressive jackpot at online casinos. Caribbean stud poker at online casinos has you placing an initial bet and then after you are dealt your five-card hand you can decide whether you would like to bet again against the Dealer’s hand. The good news is that you can see your hand and one of the Dealer’s cards before making that decision.

If you decide that your hand is unlikely to win then you “forfeit” your original bet and fold. If you think you can win then you have to double your first bet with a “raise.” To win you must beat the Dealer’s hand and the Dealer’s hand must “qualify.” That means the dealer must have an Ace and a King or better. If the Dealer does not qualify, you win your original bet but the “raise” is considered a push and refunded. If the Dealer’s hand qualifies and your hand is a winner you win both bets. If the Dealer beats your hand then you lose both bets. If it is a tie then the kicker would come into play just as it would in regular poker.

You can also play for the jackpot. To do this in Caribbean stud poker at online casinos you put $1 in the jackpot slot. You lose if you fold or if the Dealer’s hand qualifies and beats your hand. The payoffs for the jackpot have a royal flush paying 200 to 1. A straight flush pays out 50 to 1, a four of a kind pays 20 to 1, a full house pays 7 to 1, a flush pays 5-1 and a straight pays 4-1. Three of a kind pays out at 3-1 while two pair pays 2-1. A pair or a high card pays even money. There is also a progressive jackpot. There are five hands that qualify for the progressive jackpot. Now that you know how to play Caribbean stud poker, have fun hitting a royal flush, straight flush, four of a kind, full house or flush at the casino.
