2011 BCS Championship Odds Favor Alabama and Ohio State

BCS Championship Odds

The Alabama Crimson Tide are favored at online sportsbooks in college football betting odds to repeat as national champions. Alabama is 7-2 in 2011 BCS Championship odds with returning Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram and a lot of talent on offense including quarterback Greg McElroy. The Crimson Tide defense did lose a lot of players but Nick Saban is a defensive guru so look for the Tide to reload on that side of the ball. The schedule helps Alabama as they get the Florida Gators at home. They do have tough road games though at LSU and Arkansas.

Ohio State is the second choice in 2011 BCS Championship odds at online sportsbooks as they are listed at 13-2. The Buckeyes bring back quarterback Terrelle Pryor and they play in the Big 10 which means they have an easier schedule than teams like Alabama or Florida. The Buckeyes do have to travel to Wisconsin and Iowa in 2010 so going unbeaten will not be easy. There are three teams listed at 12-1 in college football odds to win it all next season. Teams listed at 12-1 are USC, Boise State and Oregon but you can throw Oregon out as a contender. Their two best players, quarterback Jeremiah Masoli and running back LaMichael James are in legal trouble and it is unclear whether they will even play next season. USC has a new head coach in Lane Kiffin so they should be interesting to watch while Boise State’s season will be determined in the first few games as they play Virginia Tech and Oregon State.

Texas loses Colt McCoy but they still have a lot of talent and Garrett Gilbert looked pretty good in relief of McCoy in the BCS title game last year. The Longhorns are 15-1. Two other Big 12 teams, Nebraska and Oklahoma are also 15-1. Florida loses Tim Tebow and they are 16-1 in 2011 BCS Championship odds. TCU will try and go unbeaten but it may be tougher this season. The Horned Frogs are 18-1. Virginia Tech is also 18-1. Three teams are listed at 20-1 in 2001 BCS Championship odds. Miami of Florida, Penn State and Iowa are all 20-1. LSU is 25-1 while Arkansas and Georgia are interesting longshots at 30-1. Vegas sportsbooks have the Alabama Crimson Tide 3-1 betting favorites in odds to win the 2011 BCS Championship.
