Butler may only be ranked 12th in the country in college basketball betting but they have the longest winning streak in the country at 19 straight games. They will try and make it 20 in a row as they host Wright State in the Horizon League Championship game on Tuesday night at 9:00pm EST in a game that can be seen on ESPN. The Bulldogs are used to playing in the title game as this will be their fifth straight but they are just 1-3 in the previous four. Last year they were upset by Cleveland State and then they lost in the NCAA Tournament to LSU. The Bulldogs don’t intend on going into this year’s tourney with a loss. College basketball odds have Butler -7 favorites at home against Wright State with a betting total of 121.5 at online sportsbooks. Butler is headed to the NCAA Tournament even if they don’t win this game but they really want to stay hot heading into the tourney. "It's a little bit of unfinished business - you feel like that when you get all that way and then you don't finish the deal," Bulldogs forward Matt Howard said. "It's the same thing this year. We're focused, we want to win. We don't feel comfortable with where we are." Butler has not lost a conference game this season and they are also unbeaten at home. They didn’t play that well on Saturday but still got past Milwaukee 68-59. Conference Player of the Year Gordon Hayward had just 10 points in the win. He should have a much better game tonight and the entire Butler team is not likely to have at letdown. "These guys have not once talked about seeding, they have not once talked about NCAA tournament," head coach Brad Stevens said, "Their locker room is right next to my office, and I have not once heard bracketology or any of that stuff from them. These guys stay pretty focused on the task at hand." Wright State is coming off a big college basketball betting win on Saturday as they routed Detroit to reach the title game. Wright State beat Butler in the 2007 championship game and will try and repeat that success tonight. The Raiders have been shooting the ball well and will need another great performance tonight if they are to upset Butler. Vaughn Duggins had 18 points the last time the two teams met but Wright State still lost by 12 to Butler on February 6th. The Raiders are 2-6-1 in college basketball betting for their last 9 games overall. The Raiders are 1-11-1 ATS in their last 13 road games. The Bulldogs are 6-14 in their last 20 home games. The Over is 5-0 in the Raiders last 5 games as a road underdog. The Under is 4-0 in the Bulldogs last 4 overall. The Over is 4-0 in college basketball odds in the last 4 meetings between the two teams. Vegas odds at the MGM Mirage sportsbook have Butler -7 favorites against Wright State with a total of 121.5. |
