The San Antonio Spurs and the Denver Nuggets will both be trying to pick up a win on Thursday night at 10:35pm EST when they battle at Pepsi Center in a game that can be seen on TNT. NBA odds makers currently have the Nuggets listed as 6-point favorites against the Spurs. Manu Ginobili scored 21-points off the bench for the Spurs in their 101-89 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night. Los Angeles covered as 2.5-point home favorites in NBA picks while the game played UNDER the 192.5-point total set by online sportsbooks.
Kobe Bryant missed the game still suffering from a sore ankle as well as Andrew Bynum from a bruised hip but it didn't matter. The Lakers "other" stars played big as Pau Gasol had 21-points with 19 rebounds, eight assists and five blocked shots to lead Los Angeles to the win. The Spurs couldn't get anything working with Tony Parker only making 20 and Tim Duncan added 16 to lose the game, the 2.5 point-spread in NBA odds and their fourth straight at the Staples Center. "We knew they were going to come hard and going to play hard," Parker said after the game. "Especially with Kobe out, you're going to have guys who are going to step up and that's what they did."
Carmelo Anthony was able to rest his ankle as Nene dropped 21-points and hauled down eight rebounds while Chauncey Billups added 16-points as the Nuggets drilled the Dallas Mavericks 127-91 on Tuesday night. Denver covered as 7-point home favorites in NBA betting odds while the game played OVER the 210.5-point total set at online sportsbooks. "The good thing is my first game back, I didn't have to do too much," Anthony said after the game. "But the bad thing is, I already had been sitting out for two weeks. I wanted to play, but I'll take a 36-point win any day."
Heading into tonight's match-up, the Nuggets are 35-17 straight up on the season, 24-25-3 against the spread as favorites in NBA odds and 6-4 after playing the Mavericks. Denver is 10-1 straight up in their last 11 games at home while San Antonio is 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 games when playing on the road against the Nuggets. The total has gone UNDER in NBA picks for 6 of San Antonio's last 7 games on the road while the total has gone OVER in 4 of Denver's last 5 games at home. Vegas sports odds at the Hilton sportsbook have the Denver Nuggets -5.5 favorites against the San Antonio Spurs with a betting total of 206. |
