AFC Wild Card: Ravens at Patriots NFL Betting Odds

AFC Wild Card - Ravens at Patriots

The New England Patriots host the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at 1:00pm EST on CBS in an AFC Wild Card game but they will be without star wide receiver Wes Welker who was injured last week. The Patriots played a meaningless game last week against Houston losing 34-27 as 7.5-point underdogs in NFL betting odds but played their starters for much of the game, a decision that head coach Bill Belichick might now be regretting. Belichick didn’t want to say anything about the decision or the injury. "We're over and done with that. We're onto Baltimore," he said.

New England is a 3.5-point NFL betting favorite in Sunday's AFC Wild Card with a total of 43 at online sportsbooks. New England will have Randy Moss for the AFC Wild Card but he is likely to be double covered on Sunday by the Ravens. It will be up to other players to get open for quarterback Tom Brady. Moss had 83 catches for 1,264 yards and 13 TDs this season. The Patriots defeated Baltimore 27-21 earlier this season and they are 5-0 all-time against Baltimore in NFL odds. Brady is dealing with injuries but he still threw for 4,398 yards and 28 touchdowns this season. "Everyone breaks bones over the course of the year," he said. "I'm feeling pretty good. It's the best I've felt in a while."

Baltimore won last week at Oakland 21-13 as a 10-point favorite in NFL betting odds to get into the playoffs and now they will try and take the Wild Card route to the Super Bowl. "There's something to be said for coasting in, because obviously you've earned the right to do that," head coach John Harbaugh said. "There's an advantage to that, and there's an advantage to fighting your way in.” The Ravens will look to run the ball with Ray Rice who had 1,339 yards this season and Willis McGahee, who had 167 yards and three TDs last week.

The Ravens are 6-2 ATS in NFL odds for their last 8 playoff road games. The Ravens are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog. The Ravens are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games in January. The Ravens are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 meetings at New England. The Patriots are 3-1-2 ATS in NFL betting for their last 6 vs. the AFC. The Patriots are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games as a home favorite. Heading into the AFC Wild Card game, the Patriots are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 playoff games. The Under is 4-0-1 in the Ravens last 5 road games. The Under is 7-2-1 in the Ravens last 10 games overall. The Under is 3-0-1 in NFL betting odds for the Patriots last 4 games as a home favorite. The Under is 11-2-1 in the Patriots last 14 playoff home games. Vegas odds at the Hilton sportsbook have the New England Patriots -3.5 favorites against the Baltimore Ravens with a betting total of 43.
