Bet Boise State vs TCU in Fiesta Bowl College Football Odds

Boise State vs TCU - Fiesta Bowl

The #1 scoring offense in the nation against the #1 total defense in the nation. Sounds like an interesting match-up in Fiesta Bowl college football betting for Monday night, doesn’t it? Boise State was #1 in the country in scoring offense at 44.1 points per game while TCU’s defense allowed just 233.3 yards per game. TCU is an 8-point favorite in college football odds for the Fiesta Bowl game with a total of 54.5 at online sportsbooks. Boise State and TCU both have excellent quarterbacks although the Broncos Kellen Moore gets more of the attention.

That doesn’t mean TCU’s Andy Dalton didn’t have a great season, because he did. He threw for 2,484 yards and 22 touchdowns and was fourth in the nation in pass efficiency. "I felt like I've matured a lot," Dalton said, "I see things a whole lot better and that just comes with experience. I know what I can and can't do. I know when I can try to make a play and when not to. I think that just comes with time." Kellen Moore was first in the country in pass efficiency and had the second-most touchdowns in the country with 39. The key in the Fiesta Bowl game may be whether or not Moore has time to throw the ball. He will be facing the TCU defensive line led by All-American defensive end Jerry Hughes.

On the other side it will be TCU’s rushing offense that averages 256 yards per game against the Boise State defense that did give up 126.8 yards per game. If TCU is able to run the ball effectively the Broncos are in trouble. Special teams could play a big role in Fiesta Bowl odds on Monday. TCU was the best kickoff return team in the country while Boise State was fifth. TCU has the punt return edge with Jeremy Kerley who was eighth in the country in return average and he scored two TDs. Betting Boise State has the big advantage when it comes to punting as they were 19th while TCU was 100th in the country. TCU played the more difficult schedule this season. They played six bowl teams this season and those teams went 6-0 in bowl games.

Boise State's only really impressive win in college football odds was against Oregon early in the season and Oregon lost their bowl game to Ohio State. The Broncos are 6-1 in college football odds in their last 7 non-conference games. The Broncos are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog. The Horned Frogs are 6-1 in their last 7 games as a favorite. The Horned Frogs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 bowl games. The Over is 4-1 in the Broncos last 5 games overall. The Over is 4-0 in the Horned Frogs last 4 games overall. Bet TCU -8 as favorites in Fiesta Bowl game odds against Boise State for Monday's game on FOX.

Gordon's Bowl Game Picks: This Fiesta Bowl will be an exciting match-up to go along with the Bengals vs the Jets on Monday night football. Boise State is always exciting to watch because they score so many points but TCU isn't too shabby either and they have the #1 ranked defense in the country. My college football pick in the Fiesta Bowl is to bet Boise State plus the points against TCU to the OVER. Vegas odds at the MGM Mirage sportsbook have the TCU Horned Frogs -7.5 favorites against the Boise State Broncos with a total of 54.
