NFL Predictions Week 15: Who Dat? The Dallas Cowboys, Dat’s Who

Dallas at New Orleans - 8:20pm EST

You’ve probably heard their fans make the chant: “Who ‘dat say they gonna beat them Saints? Who ‘dat?” America’s team? Don’t bet on it. Well, actually, you should. The Dallas Cowboys face the New Orleans Saints in the Louisiana Superdome on Saturday at 8:20pm EST. The Saints are a 7-point favorite in week 15 NFL betting odds at online sportsbooks. The over/under is at 53 1/2 and it looks like the sports betting public is lining up for the action. “New Orleans is a perfect 13-0 straight up on the season, 8-5 against the spread as favorites in NFL predictions heading into week 15 and 6-4 when playing in December,” says Line Manager Paul Edwards.

“The Cowboys have almost been a joke in December but I just can’t believe that the Drew Brees-Reggie Bush-and company-crew would get sloppy and blow it at this point.” The Big Easy’s dream team hasn’t always had it easy in NFL predictions this year, either. And they have shown a lot of guts to get their glory. Each win has been won a different way. When New Orleans beat the Atlanta Falcons in NFL odds, it was only to the tune of 26-23 after the Falcons tied the score at 23-23. Before this, the Saints claimed a comeback win against the Washington Redskins in a 33-30 overtime win. “They may be undefeated, but they still have a lot to prove,” says Edwards. “This franchise has had one of the saddest stories in the history of the NFL.”

Just ask Cowboys Coach Wade Phillips. He stepped in to take over when his father, head coach Bum Phillips, left the struggling New Orleans team back in 1985. Some sports bettors and fans think the saga won’t really have a happy ending until the Saints bring home the Lombardi Trophy. The Cowboys lost to the San Diego Chargers 20-17 in week 14. Dallas is 8-5 straight up, 6-7 against the spread as underdogs in NFL predictions and 6-4 when playing on turf. The Cowboys defense has been looking pretty good, giving up just 17.9 points per game and only about 100 yards on the ground. But they will really be tested when they’re up against a New Orleans team that averages 35.8 points a game.

New Orleans is 4-1 against the spread in NFL betting for their last five games against a team with a winning record, 7-2 against the spread in their last nine as a home favorite but only 1-5 against the spread in their last six games against NFC teams. Dallas is 2-6 against the spread when playing teams with a winning record, and 1-4 against the spread in NFL predictions for their last five games as a road underdog. New Orleans has covered five in a row against Dallas, and this might be the game NFL handicappers talk about if Coach Wade Phillips gets fired at the end of the season. Vegas odds at Caesars sportsbook have the New Orleans Saints -7 favorites against the Dallas Cowboys with a total of 43.
