UFC 107 odds on Saturday feature a lightweight title fight between champion BJ Penn and Diego Sanchez from the FedEX Forum. It is the headline bout of an 11-fight card from Memphis, Tennessee that can be seen on PPV-Live. Penn is a -280 favorite in UFC odds at online sportsbooks while Sanchez is +210. Penn has dominated the lightweight division and already beat #1 contender Kenny Florian back in August. If he gets past Sanchez there may not be much competition left for him after tonight's UFC 107 fight. Penn tried the welterweight division but Georges St. Pierre showed him he belongs in the lightweight division. That might not be bad news for Penn though since he dominated Florian in UFC 101 and doesn’t look to have a serious challenger in this division. He had previously defended his lightweight title in dominating wins over Sean Sherk and Joe Stevenson. The only fighter that seems to have any realistic chance of giving Penn a battle in UFC odds is Sanchez. He defeated Florian in The Ultimate Fighter 1. He won the first 17 fights in his career before losing to Josh Koscheck in UFC 69. He also lost to Jon Fitch. He rebounded to defeat David Bielkheden and Luigi Fioravanti before defeating Joe Stevenson and Clay Guida in his last two fights. Even though Sanchez has a lot of a talent and a lot of heart, he simply doesn’t have the skills of BJ Penn. There is simply not a weakness in Penn’s game to lose at UFC 107. He is a jiu-jitsu expert, he has great takedown defense and he is excellent in striking. He is considered one of the most talented fighters in MMA. Bet BJ Penn -280 as a favorite over Sanchez in UFC 107 odds and receive $75 free. The only way Penn has been beaten in the past was when he was outmuscled by St. Pierre. Sanchez simply doesn’t have the size or strength to dominate Penn and he doesn’t have enough wrestling skill to dominate Penn in UFC 107 odds. Sanchez may get some great strikes in but Penn has already proven he can take virtually anything. Penn is simply one of the best fighters in the world and should win this bout against Sanchez. There are four other bouts on the main part of the UFC 107 betting card. They are Frank Mir against Cheick Kongo, Jon Fitch vs. Mike Pierce, Paul Buentello vs. Stefan Struve and Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida. The preliminary card has six bouts in UFC odds. They are Kevin Burns vs. TJ Grant, Alan Belcher vs. Wilson Gouveia, Johny Hendricks against Ricardo Funch, Shane Nelson vs. Matt Wiman, Edgar Garcia vs. DaMarques Johnson and Rousimar Palhares vs. Lucio Linhares. Gordon's UFC 107 Picks: Even though Penn is the overwhelming favorite in UFC 107 odds and rightfully so, don't expect this match to be a sleeper. Sport betting handicappers are doubting that Sanchez will have the stamina to go all five rounds and I can't say that I disagree. Sanchez should make this fight interesting in UFC odds for the first round or two but will tire early and Penn will take over from there. My UFC betting pick for Saturday's fight will be to take the favored BJ Penn -280 over Diego Sanchez at BetUS sportsbook so I can get $75 free and also view UFC 108 odds that are available now. UFC 107 odds at BetUS sportsbook has BJ Penn -280 favored over Diego Sanchez +210.
