The Champions League odds are severely stacked against Bayern Munich on Tuesday as they play at Juventus in the Champions League. Bayern has to get a win to advance while Juventus only needs a draw. What also hurts Bayern is that they will be without midfielder Franck Ribery and striker Luca Toni. And to top that off, Juventus has a 16-match unbeaten streak at home in European matches. Juventus is a half goal favorite getting plus money with a total of 2 over. The three-way soccer betting line has Juventus at +125, Bayern Munich +210 and the Draw at +225.
Juventus is taking this very match very seriously and expects to win. "Both us and them have everything on the line and at the end only one team will come out a winner," coach Ciro Ferrara said. "A draw would be enough but a great team should never aim only for a draw. I want us to play to win." Juventus is in fine form as they beat Serie A leader Inter Milan on Saturday by a score of 2-1. "I want to see the same spirit, determination and will to attack that we had Saturday," Ferrara said. "I would be satisfied if we're able to repeat that performance."
Bordeaux will already be advancing from Group A in Champions League odds as they have 13 points for the top spot. Juventus is in second with eight points while Bayern has seven. It is pretty simple for both teams but the edge in soccer odds has to go to Juventus at home, especially the way they are playing. "We've got to extend this form," Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio said. "We made things more difficult for ourselves at Bordeaux and now we've got to have a great performance, not just to advance, but to back up our victory over Inter." The last time Bayern played at Juventus was in 2005 and but Bayern lost 2-1. "Second round was our goal and I wish the team can achieve it," Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.
Bayern is coming off a 2-1 win over Borussia Moenchenglabach on Friday. "You don't have to be a prophet to know that it is going to be very tough,'' coach Louis van Gaal said, "But I am convinced that we will throw everything into the melting pot to make possible what only a few weeks ago was absolutely impossible.'' Bayern will get Arjen Robben at full strength as he is expected to start on Tuesday. "I am fit again and ready for Tuesday,'' he said. "It is an important game and I would love to play from the beginning. I haven't spoken to [Van Gaal], but I think the coach knows that I want to play.'' These two teams played at Munich back in September and played to a scoreless draw. |
