![]() The undefeated New Orleans Saints (11-0) head to FedEx field on Sunday at 1:00pm EST to take on the Washington Redskins (3-8) in a game that can be seen on FOX television. Online sportsbooks have the Saints -10 road favorites in NFL betting odds against Washington with a total of 47. The Saints totally dominated the New England Patriots last week on both sides of the ball to send Tom Brady and Bill Belicheck back to the drawing board. The New Orleans defense held Brady to 21-36 for 237-yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions while Drew Brees led the Saints offensive strike throwing 18-23 for 371-yards and five touchdowns in the 38-17 win. "It only counts for one win on the stat sheet, but emotionally, those types of wins can mean a little more," Brees said after the game. "Anytime you can win, and win that way, it builds confidence for you." New Orleans covered the spread as 1-point home favorites in NFL odds while the betting total went UNDER 57-points. Heading into this match-up, the Saints are 11-0 straight up and 8-3 against the spread as a favorite in NFL betting but are only 5-5 when playing on grass and 4-6 when playing in December. The Redskins lost another tough fought game last week to the Philadelphia Eagles 27-24 but covered the spread as 10-point underdogs in NFL betting odds while the total played OVER 40.5. The wasn’t much the Redskins defense could do to stop Donovan McNabb and the Eagles in the fourth quarter allowing 11-points to let the game slip away. Washington quarterback Jason Campbell threw 22-37 for 231-yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss. Heading into Sunday’s match-up with the Saints, the Redskins are 3-8 straight up, 4-6-1 against the spread as favorite in NFL odds, 3-7 when playing outside their division and 5-5 when playing in December. Bergen's NFL Betting Picks: I would like to look at the trend against the Saints that states they are only 5-5 when playing on grass and say Washington has a chance to cover the spread... but I just can't do it. After how New Orleans made the Patriots look like an expansion UFL team last week, either the Saints will come out flat-footed or this will be one of the easiest games of the weekend to cover the spread. My pick for this game on FOX is to take the Saints on the road laying the points in NFL odds against the Redskins to the OVER. Vegas odds at Caesars sportsbook have the New Orleans Saints -9.5 favorites against the Washington Redskins with a total of 47. |
