NFL Betting Odds - Oakland Raiders at Dallas Cowboys

Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys are favored against the Oakland Raiders on Thanksgiving Day.

The Dallas Cowboys host the Oakland Raiders on Thanksgiving Day afternoon at 4:15pm EST and on paper the Cowboys have the serious advantage. The problem with Dallas though in NFL betting odds, is that they don’t always show up. The Cowboys needed a late touchdown pass from Tony Romo to just barely escape with a 7-6 win against Washington on Sunday but didn't cover the spread as 10.5-point favorites in NFL betting odds. They shouldn’t need such heroics on Thursday but the Raiders will be coming into this game with some confidence after upsetting Cincinnati last week. Dallas is a 13.5 point favorite in NFL odds with a total of 40 at online sportsbooks. Oakland has actually won six of the nine all-time meetings against the Cowboys including the last three.

The teams last met in 2005 as the Raiders won 19-13 at home. Oakland is playing on Thanksgiving Day for the first time since 1970. The Raiders are 3-2 all-time in Thanksgiving Day games. Last week the Raiders shocked the Cincinnati Bengals 20-17 as an 8.5-point favorite in NFL odds as quarterback Bruce Gradkowski made his first start as a Raider and threw the game-tying TD pass to Louis Murphy late in the fourth quarter. The Bengals fumbled the ensuing kickoff and the Sebastian Janikowski hit the game winning field goal. Bet Oakland +13.5 as a road underdog in NFL betting odds for Thanksgiving Day football against the Cowboys.

The Cowboys survived against Washington last week but quarterback Tony Romo has a sore back while tight end Jason Witten has a foot injury and linebacker Keith Brooking is dealing with an ankle injury. Those injuries look minor though and Dallas will want to play better than they did last week against the Redskins. "It's definitely going to be good for us to come out Thursday and be sharp, and be crisp," Patrick Crayton said. "It's got to look like we're really doing something out there. We've got to finish drives, whether it be with a field goal or a touchdown. We'd prefer six, but as long as we get some kind of points it's a successful drive."

The Cowboys are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Thursday games. The Cowboys are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games in November. The Cowboys are 7-3 ATS in NFL betting odds their last 10 games as a home favorite. The Under is 12-3-1 in the Raiders last 16 games in November. The Under is 5-2-1 in the Raiders last 8 road games. The Under is 4-1 in the Cowboys last 5 games in November. Bet Dallas -13.5 as a home favorite in NFL odds for Thanksgiving Day football against the Raiders.

Franklin's NFL Picks: I love me some turkey, wine and football... and not necessarily in that order either. All the NFL betting handicappers are jumping all over Romo and the Cowboys at home but I'm not so sure they can cover a two touchdown spread. Just to be safe, my NFL pick for this match-up in week 12 will be to take the Raiders on the road plus the points to the OVER in a close call parlay at youwager.com. Vegas odds at MGM Mirage sportsbook have the Dallas Cowboys -13.5 favorites against the Oakland Raiders with a total of 40 for this Thanksgiving Day match-up.
