![]() Jimmie Johnson is set to clinch his record-setting fourth straight Sprint Cup Series championship in NASCAR predictions on Sunday in Ford 400 odds. Unless disaster strikes Johnson on Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Johnson will win the Chase for the Sprint Cup. He needs only to finish 25th or better to wrap things up. Johnson +350 is the co-favorite in NASCAR picks at online sportsbooks along with Mark Martin +450. Martin would need to win the Ford 400 and then have Johnson run into some serious problems to win the Championship. Johnson can actually finish 27th and clinch the title if he leads at least one lap or he can finish 28th if he leads the most laps. Bet Jimmie Johnson +350 in Ford 400 odds for the race seen on ABC at 2:30pm EST. It is somewhat surprising to see Johnson as the co-favorite in NASCAR predictions in the Ford 400 since he doesn’t need to win. All Johnson needs to do is stay out of trouble and that means playing it safe. It is also interesting to note that he has never won at Homestead. He has five Top-10s but has never won. Mark Martin has never won either, yet he is the co-favorite in NASCAR odds in this race. He has five top 10’s at Homestead. There are some other drivers that have a better chance to win on Sunday. Jeff Gordon has eight Top-10 finishes at Homestead and he is +900 at online sportsbooks. Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart are two other drivers to consider in NASCAR picks. Kurt is +1200 while Tony is +700. Kyle Busch is +1000. Stewart has two wins at Homestead and five top 10’s and could be a popular choice on Sunday. Greg Biffle +900 is definitely a contender this week in NASCAR predictions. He has won three times at Homestead and Roush has had great success at this track in the past. Carl Edwards is another good value this week at +1800. He is the best driver for Roush and is a serious contender to win this week. A driver that has not done well at Homestead is Juan Pablo Montoya. He has an average finish of 22nd in his three previous races there. Montoya is +1200 in NASCAR Ford 400 odds. Denny Hamlin +1800 is probably another driver to steer clear of this week since he is more concerned about wrecking Brad Keselowski +12500 than winning this race. Gordon's NASCAR Predictions: Jimmie Johnson is one hell of a driver and deserves the championship. I would have liked to see Mark Martin catch up in the points by he has had a great season none the less. The sportsbooks and handicappers are taking Johnson to win in Ford 400 odds but he is going to have a safe race which leaves the lanes open for the old man from Arkansas. My NASCAR picks for Sunday's race at Homestead-Miami Speedway will be to take Mark Martin +450. |
