Two teams trying to get back into the NFC playoff picture meet on Thursday night at 8:20pm EST as the San Francisco 49ers host the Chicago Bears. The game can be seen on the NFL Network and it is the first of many games set to be televised on the network in the next couple of months. San Francisco is a 3-point favorite in NFL lines with a total of 43.5 at online sportsbooks. San Francisco started the season 3-1 but has lost their last four in a row including last week against Tennessee.
Quarterback Alex Smith threw three interceptions and fumbled twice in the loss. "It's definitely frustrating to be at this point, but we do have eight games left," head coach Mike Singletary said. "We have to make sure we go out and play a complete football game without killing ourselves in the process." Bet the 49ers -3 in NFL lines for week 10. This could be a high scoring game in NFL betting lines considering Chicago’s defense has been terrible. Chicago gave up 438 yards last week in the loss to Arizona. The Bears started 3-1 this season but have lost three of their last four. "Don't have a lot of reasons to give you why we played that way," Chicago coach Lovie Smith said after the loss to Arizona, "I know we're a better football team than that. But of course, our play didn't say that."
Chicago’s defense has been gouged for 514 rushing yards in their last three games and that figures to be a problem since the 49ers have Frank Gore. The Bears are +3 underdogs in NFL lines for Thursday night's game. Chicago will look to give quarterback Jay Cutler time to throw on Thursday. He has been sacked 19 times already this season. "We're 4-4, so we're even with eight to play," said Cutler, "It's not where we want to be, but it could be worse. We got to pull it together. We got some tough games coming up and some games that we got to win immediately, starting Thursday." Some betting trends to consider are that the Bears are 1-3-1 ATS in NFL lines for their last 5 Thursday games. The Bears are 1-5 ATS in NFL odds for their last 6 road games. The Bears are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog.
The 49ers are 8-3-2 ATS in their last 13 games overall. The 49ers are 10-21-2 ATS in their last 33 games as a favorite. The favorite in this series is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The home team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings between Chicago and San Francisco. The Under is 9-4 in NFL betting lines for the Bears last 13 road games. The Over is 12-4 in the 49ers last 16 games as a home favorite. The Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between the two teams.
Franklin's NFL Picks: Many sports handicappers are taking the 49ers to cover the spread at home but the betting trends don't favor them... but then again, the Bears aren't so hot in that category either. Just to be safe, my NFL pick for this match-up in week 10 NFL lines will be to take the 49ers at home laying the points to the OVER. Vegas odds at Caesars sportsbook have the San Francisco 49ers -3.5 favorites in NFL betting against the Chicago Bears with a total of 43.5.
