The best golfers in the world are in Australia this week for the 2009 PGA Golf JBWere Masters. Tiger Woods is the 11/10 favorite in golf betting odds at online sportsbooks. This is only the second time Tiger will have played in the JBWere Masters with his only other appearance come in 1997. It will be only the third tournament Woods has ever played in Australia. "We haven't seen him in Australia for 11 years. People should be excited," Adam Scott said, "He's the greatest sports person in the world right now. He has earned the right to be called that.'' Tiger is the favorite in golf odds even though Australian Geoff Ogilvy is the golfer with the most knowledge about the Kingston Heath course. Tiger is being paid a lot of money just to appear at the 2009 JBWere. In fact, Tiger is being paid twice as much as the total amount of prize money. No one seems to mind though since Tiger’s presence makes the tournament exciting and attractive to fans. "It's a big investment, but I think it's a real smart one," Stuart Appleby said. "In the '80s and '90s, you had the hugeness of Greg Norman playing great and the world's best players following him to play these (Australian) tournaments. This has not been happening for quite a while." Bet Tiger Woods11/10 in PGA golf odds in the 2009 JBWere Masters. The defending champ of this event in golf betting is Rod Pampling and he is barely a footnote with Tiger in the field. "Obviously, I knew Tiger was coming down and I had a joke with him at the start of the year, 'It took me 10 years to win back in Australia and now I'm not going to get any press because you're playing,'" Pampling said. The highest ranked golfer from Australia is Geoff Ogilvy and he is the second choice in golf odds at online sportsbooks to win the 2009 JBWere Masters at 10-1. Ogilvy believes that Tiger is beatable though. “It would be nice to beat him,” Ogilvy said, “It’s do-able, absolutely. He doesn’t win every week, he didn’t win last week (in Shanghai), it would be nice. I would just like to win just to win the Australian Masters and it would be pretty exciting to beat Tiger.” Adam Scott 16-1, is the third choice in golf betting odds behind Woods and Ogilvy. Michael Sim is 18-1 followed by John Senden at 20-1, Aaron Baddeley at 22-1, Pampling at 25-1, Matthew Goggin at 28-1, Stuart Appelby, Richard Green and Alex Cejka at 33-1. All of the other golfers in the field are listed at golf odds of 40-1 or more. Fernandez's Golf Picks: Tiger Woods is heavily favored once again to win in PGA golf odds for the 2009 JBWere Masters and unlike last week, I think that is where the smart money is. Although I will be taking the Aussie Adam Scott and Pampling as well, my golf pick will be to take Woods 11/10 to win as the golf betting favorite in the 2009 JBWere Masters tournament at Bodog sportsbook. Bodog sportsbook has Tiger Woods the 11/10 favorite in 2009 JBWere Masters golf odds from Australia.
