NFL Betting Odds - Chicago Bears at Atlanta Falcons

Bears at Falcons - 8:20pm EST on NBC

NBC Sunday Night Football features a great match-up in NFL betting odds as the 3-1 Chicago Bears face the 3-1 Atlanta Falcons. Both teams have high profile quarterbacks as the Bears are led by Jay Cutler while Atlanta has Matt Ryan. These teams met last season in NFL betting odds for one of the best games of the year as the Falcons won 22-20. Chicago came from nine points down to take the lead before Atlanta’s Jason Elam hit the winning field goal as time ran out. The Bears still remember that loss.

"We still talk about it, 11 seconds on the clock and how we lost that game," wide receiver Devin Hester said. "On this Sunday, we don't want to have that feeling again when we walk off the field." Atlanta is a 4-point favorite in NFL odds against the Bears. It will not be easy for Chicago to win in Atlanta considering the Falcons are 10-1 at home in their last 11 games. "It's a loud environment," Cutler said. "Sunday night football, it will be even louder so we've got to protect the football. They're a good defense. Matt Ryan, Michael Turner, all those guys will try to do a good job. We've got to play our best ball." It is somewhat unusual to have two teams meeting that have already had their bye week this early in the NFL betting season but that is the case in this game. Atlanta had theirs two weeks ago and it helped them as they routed San Francisco last week in NFL lines.

The Bears were off last week and hope the extra rest helps them on Sunday. The Bears have won eight of ten all-time meetings with the Falcons but they did lose last season. "It was a big win, but that's done. That was last year," Ryan said. "They're a different football team this year. We know how a tough team coming in, a tough matchup. We're just doing what we can to get ready to play." The Bears are 11-4 vs. the NFL betting odds in their last 15 games in October. The Bears are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games. The Bears are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as an underdog. The Bears are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings against Atlanta. The Falcons are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in October. The Falcons are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games. The Under is 8-3 in NFL betting odds for the Bears last 11 road games. The Over is 10-4 in the Falcons last 14 home games. The Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Atlanta between the two teams.

Lanning's NFL Picks: The Bears have a slight edge over the Flacons in the trends but they haven't proven enough on the road to take them tonight even with the points. Just to be safe, my NFL pick for this match-up in week 6 NFL betting odds will be to take the Falcons at home laying the points to the UNDER. Vegas odds at Caesars sportsbook have the Falcons -3.5 favorites against the Bears with a total of 44.
