NFL Picks Week 6 - Buffalo Bills at New York Jets

Bills at Jets - 4:15pm EST on CBS

Two teams badly looking for a victory meet on Sunday at 4:15pm EST as the New York Jets host the Buffalo Bills. The Jets started 3-0 in NFL picks but are in a foul mood after losing two straight games while the Bills are simply searching for anything positive. New York is a 9.5-point favorite in NFL picks at online sportsbooks for this week 6 match-up. The New York defense that was great in the first three games has leaked oil in the last two games and head coach Rex Ryan is not happy.

"It absolutely was a humbling experience," Ryan said, "This is a step back, but we can make a huge leap forward. We've just got to learn from this and we've got to practice better. The Jets are still tied for the division lead but they can’t afford to keep giving up big yards. The Jets should not have a problem as the week 6 NFL pick against a Buffalo team that is 1-4 with a coach on the hot seat. That doesn’t mean the Jets are going to letdown. "This is a must-win for us, and I think we have to respond," Ryan said. "I think playing at home in front of our fans is going to be huge for us, but from an organizational standpoint, our entire organization, this week has got to be huge."

Buffalo was anemic last week in a 6-3 loss to Cleveland as a 5-point favorite in week 5 NFL odds. Head coach Dick Jauron may not be long for his job. "Yeah, I understand that criticism," Jauron said. "That's the job. I'm in that position, and I clearly haven't been able to reach (the players) to help them particularly in these last three games to get them over the hump to get us where we win." The Buffalo offense has scored just 20 points in their last three games. Overall the Bills rank only ahead of Cleveland and Oakland in points scored in the AFC. New York swept the season series with Buffalo last year. Since 2003 the teams have split their last 12 meetings. The Bills are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. the AFC East. The Jets are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Jets are 1-6 ATS in NFL picks for their last 7 games as a favorite. The Bills are 4-1 vs. the NFL odds in the last 5 meetings between the two teams. The underdog is 19-7 vs. the NFL odds in the last 26 meetings between the two teams.

Bergen's NFL Picks: Well T.O. isn't happy in Buffalo, is anyone shocked? I expect the Bills to throw to him a little more today but it won't be enough. Just to be safe, my NFL pick for this match-up in week 6 NFL odds will be to take the Jets at home laying the points to the OVER. Vegas odds at the Hilton sportsbook have the Jets -9.5 favorites against the Bills with a total of 35.5.
