Michigan at #12 Iowa - College Football Odds

Michigan at Iowa - 8:05pm EST

The Big Ten will face the spotlight of ABC cameras Saturday night as the Michigan Wolverines try and regain momentum at Iowa City against the surging Iowa Hawkeyes with kickoff is set for 8:05pm EST from Kinnick Stadium. Iowa is an 8-point favorite in college football odds with the total set at 47. The Michigan Wolverines began the season with turmoil as head coach Rich Rodriguez was under fire for allegedly exceeding practice time limits. Rodriguez was turned in by anonymous players and was also accused of not caring enough about the individuals on his team.

Rich Rod quickly turned the entire situation around as he led Michigan to a 4-0 straight up start which included a dramatic win over Notre Dame. Last week in their road opener against rival Michigan State the Wolverines had the streak end as the Spartans beat them in an overtime thriller 26-20. The loss dropped Michigan’s college football odds record to 4-1 straight up and 3-2 against the spread. A big reason for Michigan’s success in college football betting odds has been freshman quarterback Tate Forcier. Forcier has played like a cool and seasoned veteran as he has hit on 60% of his passes for 894 yards with 9 touchdowns and just 3 interceptions. The Michigan defense has been a cause for concern with everyone betting the college football odds as it ranks 90th overall for total yards allowed and 55th in points allowed.

The Iowa Hawkeyes had a scare in their season opener as they needed two blocked field goals against 1-AA Northern Iowa to escape with a 17-16 win. Since that high wire act, however, the Hawkeyes have been great and now stand at 5-0 straight up and 3-1 against the spread and tied for first in the Big Ten while ranking 12th in the nation. Defense is the Iowa strength as they rank 10th in the nation for points allowed. Iowa has a quality win on its resume as they won at Penn State 21-10 two weeks ago in ABC Saturday night action. Iowa has beaten the college football odds in 4 out of their last 6 games against Michigan and their defense will provide a strong challenge to Forcier.

Bergen's College Football Picks: How about one more underdog in week 6 football odds winning this weekend? My college football pick is to take the Wolverines plus the points to the OVER in a close call parlay. Vegas odds at the MGM Mirage sportsbook have Iowa -8 favorites in week 6 college football odds against Michigan with a total of 47.5.
