College Football Odds Week 6 - Georgia at Tennessee

Georgia at Tennessee - 12:21pm EST

Saturday college football odds will include a Southeastern Conference match-up of teams that have been disappointments thus far as Tennessee hosts Georgia. Both teams are coming off deflating home losses and will need this game to get back on track towards a bowl berth. Kickoff for this matchup is set for 12:21pm EST and it can be viewed on ESPN360.com. Tennessee opened as a 2-point favorite at sportsbooks but Vegas odds have dropped the line to 1-point. The Georgia Bulldogs enter this match-up with a record of 3-2 straight up but just 1-4 against the spread.

Last week the Bulldogs suffered a gut wrenching 13-20 loss to LSU as 3.5 point home favorites. The Tennessee Volunteers are 2-3 both straight up and against the spread. Last week Tennessee lost a tough home game to Auburn 22-26 as 2.5 point favorites with the college football odds. Both teams have gone under the college football odds total in 3 out of 5 games this year. Tennessee’s big problem in college football betting has been on the offense as they have not been able to move the ball consistently against top shelf competition. Their two wins have been against non-BCS automatic qualifiers Western Kentucky and Ohio. Head coach Lane Kiffin is also the offensive play caller and he has not been as impressive at racking up points as he has been with colorful quotes this year. His father, Monte, has done a fine job as defensive coordinator and has kept UT competitive in each game this year.

Georgia has also had their problems on offense as they rank 59th in the nation for scoring. What has been most alarming, however, has been the poor play of the defense as Georgia has been outscored this year 136-139 and has suffered key breakdowns in crucial moments such as at the end of last week’s loss to LSU when they allowed a 33 yard TD run with under a minute remaining to blow the game. Georgia has gotten the cash in just 1 out of their last 5 matchups against Tennessee but the Vols have lost to the college football odds in 8 out of their last 11 home games. Tennessee is trying to avoid a second consecutive 0-3 start to their SEC season while Georgia wants to take away the pain of that loss to LSU.

Bergen's College Football Picks: Out of all the underdogs I have picked for this weekend, this match-up is my favorite. My college football pick for Georgia at Tennessee will be to take the Bulldogs on the road the points in week 6 college football odds. Vegas odds at the MGM Mirage sportsbook have Tennessee -1 against Georgia with betting total of 46.5.
