Two top contenders to end USC’s reign as Pac 10 champions will meet in the Rose Bowl Saturday as the 13th ranked Oregon Ducks will take on the improving UCLA Bruins with kickoff on ABC set for 3:30pm EST. This game opened circled in college football odds with Oregon as a 3.5-point road favorite and no total posted at sportsbooks. The reason for the circle is that the status of both teams starting quarterbacks is in doubt.

College football predictions list Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli as doubtful due to a knee injury while UCLA quarterback Kevin Prince is questionable with a broken jaw that has cost him starts in UCLA’s last 2 games. Oregon coach Chip Kelly said Masoli’s status is “day to day.” Backup QB Nate Costa will get the call for Oregon if Masoli can’t play. Bet Oregon -3.5 in week 6 college football betting at online sportsbooks.

Oregon has a record of 4-1 straight up and 3-2 against the spread with 3 of those 5 games going over the total. The Ducks scored a 52-6 blowout home win against Washington State as 35-point favorites in college football predictions. The UCLA Bruins suffered their first loss of the season last week at Stanford 16-24 as 4.5-point underdogs. The Bruins now have a record of 3-1 both straight up and against the spread and have not gone over the betting total so far this year.

UCLA is hopeful that Prince, a redshirt freshman, can start on Saturday. Prince directed the Bruins to wins in his first two starts against San Diego State and at Tennessee where he broke his jaw. UCLA football coach Rick Neuheisel is hoping that the college football predictions come true and Prince will be able to answer the bell. “He was able to throw, so there is nothing wrong with his ability to drop back and use his legs,” said Neuheisel. “I’m hoping the rust will be minimal.” This will be Oregon’s second road game of the season and their first road trip since an opening night loss at Boise State. The Ducks have had problems protecting the ball as they have lost 10 fumbles already this year. Oregon has a record of 5-2 against the spread in their last 7 trips to UCLA.
