Baltimore Ravens at New England Patriots: NFL Week 4 Betting

Ravens at Patriots - 1:00pm EST on CBS

The best game in the AFC for week 4 NFL betting odds is the match-up between the 2-1 New England Patriots and the 3-0 Baltimore Ravens at 1:00pm EST on CBS. The Patriots were the preseason favorites to win the Super Bowl but so far this season the Ravens look like the NFL’s best team. New England is a 2-point favorite in NFL odds with a total of 44.5 at online sportsbooks. The match-up on Sunday in week 4 NFL betting odds should be an intriguing one as Tom Brady and the Patriots offense go up against Ray Lewis and the Baltimore defense.

Brady has not looked the same as he did two years ago. He has looked tentative at times and concerned about his repaired knee. Brady and the Patriots have scored just two TDs in ten trips inside the red zone. "It's just execution," Brady said. "It's everybody being on the same page and making the reads and throws and something we'll evaluate and look at. We can't keep kicking field goals, I know that. We've got to be better than that." Getting wide receiver Wes Welker back from injury would be a huge help as Brady oftentimes relies upon Welker in the clutch.

On the other side of the ball, Baltimore’s quarterback Joe Flacco has looked great. He is the NFL's fifth-highest rated passer. "I think he sees things better," head coach John Harbaugh said, "He's quicker with the ball versus pressure. He's got a better understanding of how it all ties together with the protection and the routes. He knows how to get guys lined up. I mean, there are a thousand things that Joe does better than he did a year ago." Flacco is now 14-5 as a starter and that is exactly the same record Brady had in his first 19 starts. The Patriots and Ravens last played in 2007 and it was New England getting a 27-24 win during their NFL betting unbeaten season.

Baltimore sacked Brady three times in that game and held him under 50% in completions. "You have to at least frustrate Tom Brady," Ravens defensive end Trevor Pryce said. "You're not going to sack him, because he's going to get rid of the ball. But you have to at least do your best to kind of get in his face, make some of his throws go off target. But if you don't do that, you don't stand a chance." New England has been great at home straight up although they don’t always cover the NFL betting spread. They have won their last 16 games at home when Brady is under center.

Lanning's NFL Picks: I don't like to go against Brady, especially at home but this game is going to be a stinker for a lot of people. The NFL pick for this week 4 match-up will be to take the Ravens plus the points on the road to the UNDER in a 2 team parlay at BetUS sportsbook. Vegas odds at the HIlton sportsbook have the Patriots -2.5 favorites in week 4 NFL betting odds against the Ravens with a total of 44.5.
