NFL Betting Odds - Chicago Bears at Seattle Seahawks

Bears at Seahawks - 4:05pm EST on FOX

The Chicago Bears will try and take the momentum from last week’s win over the defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers on the road with them this week as they face the Seattle Seahawks in NFL betting odds at 4:05pm EST on FOX. The Bears pulled out a 17-14 victory over the Steelers last week to get to 1-1 on the season. Quarterback Jay Cutler had a nice game for Chicago, throwing two TD passes in the win. With the status of Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck in doubt, the Bears are road favorites in NFL lines.

Chicago has struggled recently in NFL betting odds when away from Solider Field. The Bears have lost their last three road games going back to last season. They are 3-9 in their last 12 road games overall. The key for this game in NFL betting is the status of Hasselbeck. The NFL odds makers believe that Hasselbeck won’t play since the Bears are favored. If he does play, and it is very possible he will; the NFL lines will drop. If Hasselbeck does start the Seahawks could be an excellent play in NFL odds. One of Seattle’s players has extra motivation in this game. Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh was told in the off-season by the Bears he was not worth big money. "Man, the Bears ain't holler at me," Houshmandzadeh said, "Jerry Angelo probably didn't even think I could play. So I'm going to show him Sunday."

Going against a determined Houshmandzadeh is not a pleasant prospect for a questionable Chicago secondary. "I feel like I'm going to get open every play, every time," he said. "But that's not going to be the case. Those guys get paid [well too]." "I feel I'm going to win regardless, but I have to be realistic. I feel I'm going to win 95 percent of the time and they can get the other 5." The Bears road struggles are evident in point-spread trends. The Bears are 1-5 ATS in NFL betting odds for their last 6 road games. As you look to bet the total in NFL lines you will want to know the trends point to the under. The Under is 8-2 in the Bears last 10 road games and the Under is 5-1 in the Seahawks last 6 games as a home underdog. The Under is 8-2-1 in the Seahawks last 11 games overall.

Lanning's NFL Picks: Hasselback is going to sit out? Yeah right... don't fall for the old I'm injured trick when looking at the week 3 NFL betting odds. My NFL pick for this game will be to take the Seahawks as the home dog to the over in a 2-team parlay at Bodog sportsbook. Vegas odds at the MGM Mirage sportsbook have the Bears -3 favorites in NFL betting odds against the Seahawks with a total of 37.
