NFL Week 2 Odds: New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys

Giants at Cowboys - 8:20pm on NBC

The best match-up in NFL week 2 odds takes place on Sunday night at 8:20pm EST as the Dallas Cowboys host the New York Giants in NBC’s Sunday night football. The Cowboys are 2.5 point NFL betting favorites as they play their first ever regular season game in new Cowboys Stadium. The new Cowboys stadium seats 80,000 but owner Jerry Jones is also selling standing room only tickets each week and more than 20,000 have been sold.  This game could set the all-time NFL attendance record. It should also be a huge ratings bonanza for NBC as well on Sunday.

Both teams come off wins last week as the Cowboys routed the Buccaneers while New York took care of Washington. The Cowboys won last week in NFL odds on the arm of Tony Romo who threw for a career-best 353 yards. New York’s Eli Manning was almost as good as he threw for 256 yards in the Giants win. The difference last week was the defenses as Dallas gave up a lot of yards to Tampa Bay while New York held Washington under 300 yards. New York has lost four of their last six regular season games at Dallas. The Cowboys football team leads the all-time regular season series with the Giants 55-36-2.

Both teams won at home during the regular season last year as the Cowboys won 20-8 while New York won 35-14. The last time New York won a regular season game at Dallas was in 2006. The key to this game in NFL odds for week 2 could be the rushing offenses. The Giants football squad has a top rushing unit in the league last year but they had only 103 yards on the ground a week ago. That number should rise against a Dallas defense that was shredded by Tampa Bay last week. The Cowboys have given up an average of 192 yards rushing in their last three games dating back to last season.

The Cowboys had an effective rushing game last week led by Marion Barber but they will find the going tougher against New York’s defense. Dallas is 34-14-1 in its home openers. Dallas had a combined record of 12-4 the last two years at home. They will be tested by a New York team that is great on the road heading into NFL week 2 odds. The Giants are 21-6 in NFL odds in their last 27 road games. The other main NFL betting trend shows that the Cowboys football squad is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 vs. the NFC East.

Bergen's NFL Picks: Will the new stadium play a factor in the kicking game today? More than likely; so when I see the NFL week 2 odds for this game at 3, I have to scratch my head. The NFL pick is to take the Cowboys laying the points at home but I'm going out on a limb. I will be playing the Giants plus the points to the UNDER in a 2 team parlay at BetUS for the game of the week. Vegas odds at the Hilton sportsbook have the Cowboys -3 favorites in NFL week 2 odds against the Giants with a total of 45.
