Oregon at Boise State - 10:20pm EST

A Top 20 match-up in college football betting is on tap for Thursday night as #16 Boise State hosts #14 Oregon in an ESPN televised contest at 10:20pm EST. This game could be a high scoring shootout with potent offenses so it should be very entertaining. Boise State is a 3-point favorite over Oregon with a total of 64 at online sportsbooks. This game could have major implications in BCS odds especially if Boise State is victorious. A win over the Ducks might vault them into the Top 10 and then a BCS bowl game could be part of their future.

Boise State would have to go unbeaten but they have proven in the past that it can be done.Last year they went unbeaten in college football betting but were not ranked high enough and missed out on a BCS bowl game. Three years go they turned the trick though, finishing unbeaten and ranked high enough to get into the Fiesta Bowl where they upset Oklahoma in one of the greatest college football games in recent memory. Boise State has simply been dominant under head coach Chris Petersen. They have won more games this decade than any other team except Texas. Playing the WAC definitely gives them an edge in college football odds but there is no denying that Peterson has built a dynamo at Boise.

Last season it was defense that won for the Broncos in sports odds as they had the third best defense in the country. It won’t be quite the same this season for Boise since they lost their best defensive player, Ellis Powers to graduation. They still have a lot of talent though but they are not going to be as dominating. They could be even better offensively though with quarterback Kellen Moore having another year of experience. Oregon is led by quarterback Jeremiah Masoli and new head coach Chip Kelly who was the offensive coordinator last year. The offense at Oregon should not be a problem but the defense is almost never any good and that is a huge concern in this game on the blue turf.

Vegas college football odds at the MGM Mirage sportsbook have Boise State -3 favorites against Oregon with a betting total of 65.5. Oregon has been very good recently versus the college football odds in September going 13-5 ATS. They are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 non-conference games The Ducks are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games as a road underdog. The Broncos are 35-16-2 ATS in their last 53 games as a home favorite. Boise State beat Oregon last year on the road by a score of 37-32 in college football betting odds for their only previous meeting. The over could be the way to go in college football betting for this Thursday night game on ESPN. The Over is 6-0 in the Ducks last 6 vs. the WAC. The Over is 16-5-2 in the Ducks last 23 games in September. The one concern would be that the Under is 8-3 in the Broncos last 11 games in September.
