The ACC conference is going to be fun to watch in 2009 sports odds as ten teams return their starting quarterback from last season and college football betting oddsmakers at sportsbooks have no clear favorite.

There are a number of contenders that could impact the national title picture, especially Virginia Tech.

The Hokies are the co-favorites in college football betting at sportsbooks with Florida State at 5-2. Clemson 3-1, Georgia Tech 7-2, Miami 5-1 and North Carolina at 6-1.

The ACC conference is expected to be so competitive in college football betting that seven teams have betting odds of less than 10-1 to win the conference at sportsbooks. North Carolina State is 8-1 and even Wake Forest shouldn’t be ignored at 14-1.

The team to beat in 2009 ACC college football betting odds is probably Virginia Tech. They return 16 starters from last year including quarterback Tyrod Taylor. It won’t take long to know if Virginia Tech will be in the national title picture. They play Alabama on September 5th in Atlanta and are 6.5 point underdogs in college football odds against the Tide at sportsbooks.

College football odds to win the ACC conference at Bodog sportsbook
currently have Virginia Tech 5-2 and Florida State 5-2.

If Virginia Tech doesn’t win the conference in sports betting then Florida State should. The Seminoles return 13 starters including quarterback Christian Ponder. The defense for Florida State is young and that is why they could finish second to Virginia Tech in ACC college football odds at sportsbooks.

Clemson is usually the chic pick in sports odds to win the ACC but not this season and that might be the best thing ever for the Tigers. The pressure is off. The team returns 15 starters including running back C.J. Spiller. The key will be how well Kyle Parker plays at quarterback.

The Tigers got rid of head coach Tommy Bowden and that is another positive. Head coach Dabo Swinney has a lot of talent to work with and Clemson could steal the ACC this season.

Georgia Tech returns 17 starters from last year and they will be right in the mix in the ACC. QB Josh Nesbitt is back along with RB Jonathan Dwyer, last year’s ACC Offensive Player of the Year. The defense is not as good and that puts them behind the top three teams.

Miami is facing a make or break year under Randy Shannon in college football odds. They have done nothing but disappoint since he arrived and they may struggle again. They do have Jacory Harris back at quarterback and the team has a strong running game with Graig Cooper and Javarris James.

currently have Clemson 3-1 and Georgia Tech 7-2.

North Carolina continues to get better under Butch Davis. They return 15 starters from last season including QB T.J. Yates. The defense is simply outstanding and that is one reason they are a contender to win the ACC this year in college football odds.

Long-shots to win the ACC conference in sportsbook college football betting odds are Maryland at 22-1, Virginia at 25-1, Boston College at 50-1 and Duke at 65-1.
